SAFA ratio of our country's airline companies is at the best level of all time.

According to the data of the European Civil Aviation Safety Agency (EASA); The average of findings in SAFA audits conducted abroad for Turkish airline companies dropped to 0.20, reaching the best level of all time.

SAFA inspections are carried out by other countries before the departure of the aircraft in the operations of foreign airline companies and checked whether the aircraft fulfills the international requirements regarding flight safety. During the inspections, in which the physical condition of the aircraft, the requirements to be complied within the cockpit and cabin are checked, it is aimed to implement the rules that will ensure the flight safety of the passengers at the highest level during the flight.

Within the scope of the SAFA Program, called the Safety Assessment for Foreign Aircraft, fewer findings were found on Turkish-registered aircraft than on aircraft from European countries. As of today, Turkey is at a level that is twice as good as the EASA countries with a finding average of 0.20 and a finding average of 0.44.

Along with our airports and airlines with the best performances in Europe during the current pandemic period, our aircraft have also taken their place in the forefront in terms of safety performance. Despite being one of the most inspected countries abroad with 225 SAFA inspections on our aircraft, Turkey has come out of these inspections by lowering the rate of findings.

Turkey's average of findings, which was 0.91 in 2010, decreased to 0.87 in 2011 and 0.67 in 2012. Within the framework of the goal of achieving a better rate than 0.50, which is the average of findings of European countries, in 2016, Turkey decreased the average of findings to 0.38, becoming the 5th country with the lowest average in Europe.

Since 2013, Turkey has started to have a better average of findings than European countries and has been in the first place by constantly and regularly decreasing the average of findings. Currently, the averages of findings for the major countries in Europe are as follows: Spain: 0.55, Italy: 0.52, France: 0.50, England: 0.48, Germany: 0.47 and Austria: 0.33. In this framework, while the SAFA finding average was 0.44 in EASA countries, it reached the best level by decreasing to 0.20 in our country.
