İstanbul Airport awarded 'Best Airport in Europe'
İstanbul Airport was awarded as the "Best Airport in Europe" and the "Accessible Airport" in the category of over 40 million passengers at the "17th ACI Europe Awards" organized by the Airports Council International (ACI).
İstanbul Airport was appreciated for ensuring the continuation of transportation and trade at an optimum level by managing the Covid -19 pandemic process successfully that negatively affected the aviation industry.
İstanbul Airport received the "Accessible Airport" award of ACI for the creation of a culture of accessibility and concept of the disabled-friendly airport. The airport drew attention with its distinctive services provided on both the land and air sides of the terminal such as special passenger service points, video call center, voiced steps and adult diaper changing rooms.
The airport meets all accessibility standards with its accessible elevator, priority crossing points, car parking points, accessible route, special guest card and sunflower badge projects. With its special services beyond the standards it offers, the awareness it creates and the adoption of the principle of "everybody has the right to travel", İstanbul Airport is a success story in the sector.
