Civil aviation delegations, who came to our country within the scope of ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (ICAO GISS 2022), visited the Turkish Civil Aviation Academy on 30 June 2022. During the visit, the "TSHA Promotion Program" was organized regarding the activities of the Academy.

At the opening speech of the program, Deputy Director General of DGCA Özcan Başoğlu noted that the main mission of TSHA is to meet the qualified human resources needed by the industry by providing civil aviation trainings at international standards. Mr. Başoğlu also stated that it is aimed to develop institutional capacity with standardization in education, which is at the center of the Digital Transformation Projject. Moreover, the academy is structured to serve the global aviation system in the regional and international sense and they are ready to cooperate with other countries in the field of education.

After the opening speech, a presentation on the “New Civil Aviation System” was made by Expert/Analyst Serhan Karaca from the International Relations Coordination Section of DGCA Türkiye. In the presentation, in which the new aviation approach consists of three main components: “Corporate Transformation”, “Aviation Automation System” and “Smart/Useful Aviation services”, the organizational structure of civil aviation and the information management strategy including big data and smart decision systems were shared with the guest delegations.

A presentation was made by Aviation Expert Burak Kof from the Air Navigation Department of DGCA on Smart and Useful Aviation Services which is another component of the new civil aviation model. In the presentation, where smart services were exemplified through that system, the benefits of smart systems that provide solutions to the important needs of aviation on administrative and operational processes were emphasized.

Afterwards, the guest delegations were given a tour of the Turkish Civil Aviation Academy and information was given to the participants about TSHA in 5 different classrooms simultaneously. It was emphasized that the Turkish Civil Aviation Academy, which is established on a total area of 23000 m², of which 12000 m² is closed, with 25 smart classrooms, a conference hall with a capacity of 276 people, other equipment and social areas, can provide training services to ICAO member countries upon request.
