Noise Certificates

Each aircraft registered or to be registered in the Turkish Aircraft Register must have a noise certificate under Annex-16 Volume I issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The noise categories determined by ICAO are given below.
 
ANNEX 16 VOLUME I NOISE CATEGORIES
CHAPTER 2 
Subsonic jet aeroplanes —Application for Type Certificate submitted before 6 October 1977.
CHAPTER 3 
1. Subsonic jet aeroplanes — Application for Type Certificate submitted on or after 6 October 1977 and before 1 January 2006 

2. Propeller-driven aeroplanes over 8 618 kg— Application for Type Certificate submitted 
on or after 1 January 1985 and before 1 January 2006
CHAPTER 4 
1. Subsonic jet aeroplanes and propeller-driven aeroplanes with maximum certificated take-off mass 55 000 kg and over — Application for Type Certificate submitted on or after 1 January 2006
2. Subsonic jet aeroplanes with maximum certificated take-off mass less than 55 000 kg — Application for Type Certificate submitted on or after 1 January 2006

3. Propeller-driven aeroplanes over 8 618 kg — Application for Type Certificate submitted 
on or after 1 January 2006
CHAPTER 5 
Propeller-driven aeroplanes over 8 618 kg — Application for Type Certificate submitted 
before 1 January 1985
CHAPTER 6 
Propeller-driven aeroplanes not exceeding 8 618 kg — Application for Type Certificate 
submitted before 17 November 1988
CHAPTER 7
Propeller-driven STOL aeroplanes

CHAPTER 9
Installed auxiliary power units (APU) and associated aircraft systems during ground operations

The application for the Noise Certificate should include:
1- Application and SHGM Form 43 – Noise Certification Application Form
2- Related to new aircraft:
   a. Declaration of conformity
   b. For the imported aircraft, a declaration signed by the exporting authority confirming that the aircraft is in conformity with the design adopted by the General Directorate; and
   c. Noise information determined in accordance with applicable noise requirements.
3- Related to used aircraft:
   a. Noise information determined in accordance with applicable noise requirements and
   b. Historical records to determine Aircraft production, modification and maintenance standards.
