Turkey has added Myanmar to its flight network...
The number of the destinations worldwide covered by the flight network of Turkey that has executed an agreement with Myanmar as per the expansion to the Far East has reached to 162 countries.
The civil aviation negotiations carried out at Yangon on August 22, 2014 by and between the delegation of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, and the Civil Aviation executives of Myanmar, have resulted in an agreement, and the Air Transport/Services Agreement has been initialed thereby. Basing on the said agreement, the air operators will be able to operate flights bilaterally between Istanbul and Yangon.
As per the Air Transport/Services Agreement, the designated air operators of our country will operate scheduled passenger flights from all points at our country to Yangon as well as the other two destinations to be further designated in Myanmar, and the designated air operators of Myanmar will be able to operate scheduled passenger flights from all points at Myanmar to Istanbul and the other two destinations to be further designated in our country, in a total of 14 frequencies in a week, and the said air operators will be able to operate scheduled cargo flights without any restrictions thereto.
The said agreement also enables the designated air carriers to participate in the marketing practices such as code sharing, blocked space and such other commercial practices, including the third parties.
