EUROCONTROL European Aviation Overview Report

According to the air traffic statistics for 07-13 September 2026 in the EUROCONTROL European Aviation Overview published on 17 September 2026;
  • Türkiye ranked 6th among the top 10 countries in Europe with an average of 4,191 flights (departures and arrivals) per day.
  • The number of flights decreased by 2% compared to the previous week and increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2025.



Among the 10 airlines operating the most flights in Europe during the period of 07-13 September 2026;

 

  • Turkish Airlines Group ranked 2nd with an average of 1,831 flights per day.
  • The number of flights operated by Turkish Airlines Group decreased by 1% compared to the previous week and increased by 6% compared to 2025.
  • Pegasus ranked 10th among Europe's busiest airlines with an average of 703 flights per day.
  • Pegasus flight numbers remained stable compared to the previous week and increased by 7% compared to 2025.

Among the busiest airports in Europe during the period of 07-13 September 2026;

  • Istanbul Airport ranked 1st with an average of 1,643 flights per day.
  • Istanbul Airport decreased by  2% compared to the previous week and increased by 3% compared to 2025.
  • Antalya Airport ranked 10th with an average of 969 flights per day.
  • Antalya Airport decreased by 3% compared to the previous week and by 3% compared to 2025.



  • Total ATFM delay averaged 2.7 minutes per flight, including 2.1 minutes of en-route delay per flight.
  • France accounted for 23%, Spain for 18%, and Greece for 12% of all en-route ATFM delays.
  • Türkiye was not listed among the main contributors to en-route ATFM delays.
