Türkiye and Kazakhstan increase direct flights
On July 27, 2022, the Civil Aviation Authorities of Türkiye and Kazakhstan met to discuss air transportation issues. With the agreement signed as a result of the negotiations, the number of weekly flights between the two countries was increased from 40 to 93 frequencies. In this context, flights from Istanbul Airport to Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, were increased from 7 frequencies to 11 frequencies per week, to Almaty from 10 frequencies to 13 frequencies per week, and to Aktau from 2 to 7 frequencies per week.
Furthermore, it was decided to start scheduled flights from Ankara to Kazakhstan. New destinations from Türkiye were also added to the route schedule in order to support tourism. In this regard, the number of flights to various destinations in Kazakhstan from Antalya, Alanya, Bodrum and Dalaman was increased from 10 frequencies to 22 frequencies per week.
