Aviation security audit was carried out by the ICAO Audit team in our country between 6-17 May 2024 within the scope of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Universal Security Audit Program Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA).

 

Following the opening meeting on May 6, 2024, the audit started with inspections within the scope of the legislation, first with our General Directorate and then with stakeholder institutions and organizations. In the ongoing process, Istanbul Airport was audited on 9-12 May 2024 and Sabiha Gökçen Airport was audited on 13-14 May 2024, and audit activities were carried out in the institutions and organizations responsible for the implementation of civil aviation security practices.

 

During the closing meeting held by the ICAO Audit team at our General Directorate on 17 May 2024, it was stated that our country is an important partner for ICAO with its significant capacity in the field of civil aviation and that the security system created for safeguarding civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference is considered to be at an advanced level. It was finally shared that there were no serious findings in the successfully completed audit.
