Fuzuli International Airport was opened with a ceremony with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Azerbaijan İlham Aliyev.
Fuzuli International Airport, built by Azerbaijan on the lands liberated from occupation, was inaugurated with a ceremony with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Azerbaijan İlham Aliyev. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, also attended the ceremony.
President Erdoğan became the first head of state to land at Fuzuli International Airport.
The airport, whose foundation was laid on January 14, 2021, became operational in 8 months. The first test flight to the airport was operated on August 22.
The runway of the airport has the capacity to serve 200 passengers per hour and it is 3 kilometers long and 60 meters wide.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) included the airport in the list of international airports with the code of FZL.
