Sailplane Pilot Licence (SPL) Processes
The following requirements are sought in applications for sailplane pilot license:
• To be at least 17 years of age
• To hold a high school degree or its equivalent
• To hold a valid Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate issued by the DGCA or any aviation medical centers authorized by the DGCA.
• To have completed the required theoretical knowledge and flight instruction successfully at the Approved Training Organizations authorized by the DGCA
• To satisfy the flight time requirements prescribed by the applicable regulations.
Privileges
• To be at least 17 years of age

Privileges
The privileges of the holder of a glider pilot license are to act, but not for remuneration, as pilot-in-command or co-pilot of any aeroplane engaged in non-revenue flights.
Theoretical Knowledge Instruction
The applicant must have completed theoretical knowledge instruction at a certified course organized by an authorized approved training organization or a registered organization.
Flight Instruction
An applicant for a glider pilot license must complete minimum 24 hours of flight time at a flight training organization or registered organization authorized by the DGCA.
The applicant must successfully complete the check flight to be operated at the end of the training
