European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) 's Vice-President from Turkey ...

Turkey,increasing its activity in international aviation organizations in paralel with the growth in the civil aviation sector, has achieved one more major success by becoming the Vice-President of the European Civil Aviation Conference.
Mr. Bilal Ekşi, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communication Civil Aviation Director General, has been elected unanimously as Vice-President of the ECAC at the General Assembly meeting held on July 10-11, 2012 in Strasbourg, France, and attended by representatives of 44 countries, members of the ECAC.  
The General Assembly of the ECAC,which carries out rule making and regulating activities to ensure flight safety and aviation security in the  EU member countries, convenes triennially, and had its 33th meeting this year, attended by represenatives of many international organisations along with member countries.  
Three-year activities of the ECAC have been reviewed, and a work programme and budget for the next three years have been adopted at the meeting. A unanimous decision has been made Turkey to perform the ECAC Vice-President functions and Mr. Bilal Ekşi, the Civil Aviation Director General, has been elected as Vice-President.   
This most recent achievement of Turkey, which in the previous period was also a member of the ECAC Coordination Committee, is regarded as a new step towards much more significant achievements in terms of the integration to the European Aviation System.
